NSFW: I was like 0_o "seriously?"

Meet Chippy! He's Maltese-Pomeranian

Meet Dara! She's Shih Tzu-Mini Pin. Siya lang yung binili namin technically LOL. Super fan kasi kami ng isang Thai resto, so we bought her from the chef! :D

Malikot din ito, may lahing rabbit yata.

Anyway, set aside ang meet and greet the dawgs muna.

I make patol talaga.

Dahil, mukhang mashadong nagising na diwa ko, we took the debate offline. LOL

Homer

iinvite mo nga ako sa mga lakad mo baka may mameet akong pedeng idate. hahahaha

3:02am
Seth
nope. if you do that, asaan ang authenticity? that's why to understand something, one has to look at the context. kasi if we use our personal norms instead of the author's we won't get the message at all
nakow. im a home buddy now  happy with munchkin and the dogs

3:03am
Homer

The idea kept me thinking... it sounded too cheesy to be original. True enough.

2012. The Mistress.

So why is the premise in the screenshot above SOOO WRONG in so many levels?

#1 At a bar, you are there to have fun, to socialize. When you go to a bookstore, you are getting something or enjoying something for yourself. You are not there to meet people.

Similarly,

Answer: When it qualifies as soft porn.

Keri naman di ba? (drool)

#2 When you accept a drink from a stranger, you open up to a dance, a chat, or maybe a little private fun afterwards. A book, is not something really shared by two adults at the same time. As G would've said it in his entry

"When someone interrupts your reading. Because, really, a book is a DO NOT DISTURB sign.

#3 It can be considered bribery in a sense because of the cost of the book, but also because it is also favorable to the recipient because it is a "hobby".

#4 Admit it. It is just far too desperate that you just want to be noticed and you are crying out to meet someone. Anyone. Anywhere. There is soo much denial it clouds any reasoning that "meeting someone smart, sophisticated, and intelligent" , is really the prime motive.

Seriously. They just enjoyed reading books too much they forgot how equally wonderful and tragic it is as well to interact with live persons. I believe that IS the cultural norm.

    1. looking back, when Powerbooks and FullyBooked hasn't decided yet to shrink wrap all their wares to prevent private reading, there were a handful of hot guys who are into novels. but unless you're planning to pounce like the john lloyd movie, disturbing someone making a selection is just... awkward.

    2. Hahaha, ewan. Ideal lang sakin siguro yan? At least we'll find common ground in the books we read? Although I do agree, it's not a spot for flirting and cruising.

And no, it's not my own personal do not disturb sign. Go ahead and make conversation. I still make room to socialize. :)
